Drabble project, heigh-ho.
Fandom: Supernatural, through the most recent episode ("Jus In Bello").
Title: 21. The Hard Part
Victor's always been good at analytical thinking. Good at breaking down a situation into its logical components, but also good at tracing the twisted internal logic that motivates the people he pursues.
And once he's reached the end of this particular chain of logic, telling the facts one by one like the beads of Nancy's rosary, there are really only two possibilities: he has (a) gone violently insane, or (b) been wrong about nearly everything.
Breaking it down to that is the hard part. It's much simpler once the two possibilities are in front of him. Both of them close the door in his path, but only one of them opens any others. Hundreds of others.
"Okay," he says. "How do we survive?"
