I'm just saying it's a little creepy to see her like this, okay?

No, you don't get it. She's not mad. Let me say that again for you: she's not mad. This level of human stupidity happening around her, happening to her, and she's gone catatonic.

It's Mendoza. This is the kid who was self-possessed enough to stay mad in the dungeons of the Inquisition because they weren't listening to her. God, I can still see her glaring out of that cell, tiny and filthy and furious at all of us for being such idiots. And now she's just ... given up.

Yeah, I know it happens. She'll get over it. I know.

It doesn't take much to get into this fandom, I have to say. By the time I got halfway through Garden of Iden I was obsessed.

I wouldn't say I'm obsessed per se -- I'm interested, possibly as high as fascinated, but not obsessed. I've had this book for close on a year and haven't avidly sought out the next one yet.

But I knew it was the only possible fandom choice for this title.
