Today is Impeach Bush Day.

Apparently (and thanks to

cadhla for the tip), it's also International Moment Of Frustration Scream Day.

Is it just me, or are those two oddly harmonious?

Here's my problem with impeachment: President Richard B. Cheney.

*siiiiiiiigh* Yeah.

Why, it's enough to make you want to SCREAM IN FRUSTRATION.

Nah, President Dennis Hastert -- anything Bush can be impeached for, Cheney can be impeached for as well. And we'd better pray that nothing happens to Denny, because next in line would be Ted Stevens.

But that could be a good thing: maybe President Stevens could do something about all the trucks clogging up the Internet tubes!

Keep in mind that the Democrats could gain control of the House, so that we would possibly get Nancy Pelosi.

That said, Bush is not being removed from office anytime soon. There just wouldn't be enough votes to convict.

Nope, but if he's being brought up on impeachment charges at the midterms, while the Repubs are floudering from having covered up the Foley scandal, this might be enough to tip the House back. More, if he's actively defending himself against substantial charges (and these are, enough so that while popular opinion supported Clinton in a "mind your own business" fashion, he's being accused of everything but outright treason) then he'll have too many fires to fight at home to, for example, try to invade Iran or Syria.

Basically, we'll attemping a political castration. And if enough people send in petitions demanding it, this just might work.

Actually, a President whose sole governing philosophy would be "Send Money To Alaska To Build Bridges To Nowhere" would still be an improvement over what we have now...

Today is "Day of the Race" in Mexico according to my calendar here at work. My snarky politically incorrect side wants to say it's a Triathlon event that involves a swim across the Rio Grande, climbing a fence, and a marathon across the Arizona desert.
