Meme: I can do that!
Meme ganked from
genarti.
change a diaper: Yup.
plan an invasion: Er, probably, given sufficient data about the target. Not sure I'd win, though.
butcher a hog: Nope. Though I do know at least the theory for butchering according to Jewish law, and I can cut the critter up once it's dead and skinned. (Assuming it's not a hog, a'cos we don't eat them.)
I do know how to soak and salt the meat to draw the blood out, and I'm betting none of Heinlein's characters know that. So hah.
conn a ship: Nope. Would love to learn how, though.
design a building: Not a clue.
write a sonnet: Yes.
balance accounts: In theory.
build a wall: Again, in theory. Given bricks and mortar. Or a supply of logs.
set a bone: I'd need a refresher, but I did learn how to do this. I do remember how to splint a broken leg or arm.
comfort the dying: Yes.
take orders: ...yes. *grumble*
give orders: Yes.
cooperate: Yes.
act alone: Yes.
solve equations: Er, again, I'd need a refresher but yes.
analyze a new problem: Yup.
pitch manure: Does scooping cat litter count?
program a computer: er ... no.
cook a tasty meal: Boy, can I ever!
fight efficiently: In theory.
die gallantly: Don't know. Never tried.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

plan an invasion: Sure, plans are easy. Victory is hard.
butcher a hog: In the sense of "botch or bungle" - yeah, no problem.
conn a ship: I don't even know what this means.
design a building: Sure. Can't guarantee it'll last through the first winter, but I could design and build a semi-functional shelter.
write a sonnet: I'm pretty sure I did this in school once or twice.
balance accounts: Yup.
build a wall: Depends on what it's supposed to keep in or out. I could definitely construct something that any reasonable person would look at and identify as a wall, though.
set a bone: I wouldn't try unless there was no other option. And the results probably would not be pretty.
comfort the dying: I'd certainly do my best, but the only judge of my ability wouldn't exactly be able to tell me how well I did. Comforting survivors is much harder, I think.
take orders: Yes.
give orders: Yes.
cooperate: Yes.
act alone: Yes.
solve equations: Depends on the equation. I can solve some equations, but there are also such things as unsolvable equations - and every level of difficulty in between. I can solve more equations than most people, I think.
analyze a new problem: Of course.
pitch manure: Sure, as long as I don't have to like it.
program a computer: I know (or used to know) several high-level languages. Don't know any languages newer than 1990, but I could figure it out with the right manual.
cook a tasty meal: I don't have much of a repertoire, but I can cook some basics.
fight efficiently: Hope I never have to find out.
die gallantly: Whatever with that shit. How you live is what's important.
