[purimgifts] Dear Author
Dear
purimgifts author:
Hi! And yay for yet another round of purimgifts!
Please no noncon or dubcon, no noncanonical incest, and no RPS*. I don't judge; they're just not my kink.
* Historical RPF is a go, if you're writing in a canon where historical figures could reasonably appear, such as Temeraire or Doctor Who or Gargoyles.
I would be extraspecially delighted if you do anything with canonically Jewish characters, or with canon characters interacting with Jewish OCs and/or historical figures. If you're writing something in a 'verse that doesn't have Jews and doesn't have any reason to have them (such as BSG or A:TLA), of course this does not apply -- though I would not say no to crypto-Jews (like Barbara Hambly's "Old Believers"). Scenarios such as "what if this obviously-not-intended-to-be-Jewish character were Jewish?" I am not entirely against, but I might be more interested in the notion as an AU: what if this character had been presented as Jewish from the start?
AUs in general I am pretty okay with, but I lean more towards the canon-divergence sort of AU than toward the completely transformative AU where characters are generally recognizeable but context has utterly changed. Crossovers are delightful, provided they are within fandoms I have asked for; if you really really want to write me a crossover with something I haven't asked for but you suspect I'd like, see below re "if you have any questions." OCs are love, especially (for this fic exchange) Jewish OCs, if the setting is firm enough. Meta and fourth-wall breakage for comedic purposes are okay, especially in canons where that's a basic part of canon anyway.
Mood-wise I have no preference: scare me, make me laugh, make me cry, make me wistful and nostalgic, make me angry, whatever floats your proverbial.
If you have any questions, anonymous replies are open for this post.
Thank you and I look forward to reading!
