So I have just seen Hellboy II.

I was avoiding spoilers before seeing it, so I missed a lot of my friendslist's reviews. Anyone write up anything about it I should see? Please respond here.

My own semi-spoilery initial-reaction incohering is behind the cut-tag.

Oh GOD that was good I need a cigarette. *fans self*

"You woke the baby."! Abe Sapien being flustered! Drunken commiserating with sappy love song inna background! "She's gonna eat the cat!" Locker doors! Ickle Hellboy! "Screw ze clearance!" "Industrible, my ass."

And afsldkjflasdg tooth fairies. Crippled smith! Death of giant forest god! The frickin GOBLIN MARKET!! (I know, I know, he called it the Troll Market, I am not fooled.) Angel of death with eyes in its wings! AND THEN THE HILL STOOD UP!

And and and Nuada, beautiful and deadly and doomed. My first paroxysm of joy while watching this (and oh there were several) was when we saw him practicing combat forms, alone in a dripping dim underground somewhere ... and then the subway train went by behind him. Just. *flails*

... no, I don't think I'm getting any more coherent than that tonight. More later possibly!

So, I guess you liked it, eh? I liked the first one although many thought it sucked.

I loved the first one. We watched it at 3 am after final larp prepartion, and it was exactly what we needed.

I liked it too, although the Prince really is a jackass. I mean, "Oh, you are about to kill the last forest god and deprive the world of wonder, woe woe!"

Okay, dude? He's killing in self defense and defense of others. He's killing the last totally awesome forest god that YOU decided to sic on him like that god was your pet dog. And why? Out of pique that he killed your last bodyguard, the one you also treated like a pet dog. He and the humans you despise? Totally more respectful of the forest god than you.

But, then, we knew he was a jackass.
