ATTN New York filkers: Remember Remember The Fifth Of November

Save the Clock Tower date!

Sunday, November 5th, there will be a housefilk at Chez Wittenberg.

Details (and replies, if you're interested in coming) here.

I'd like to. Really I would. But the commute...

To other filkers who see this: Go! Their housefilks are great fun and have lots of good music.

It's not so much that I'm on another continent as that I have yet to win the lottery and so, while the choice between books and food will usually trend towards books, the choice between "fly to filksing" and "pay rent for the next few months" will probably go rent.

We need to start working on that Israeli Fan Fund Lisa keeps suggesting.

I keep wavering between wanting

a technological transporter (which would transform the world to a degree so frightening that I, despite reading Niven, would be afraid of it-- but if I were the inventor, I'd be fabulously wealthy!)

or

a magical transporter (one that works only for me and my friends, and thus is a mere superconvenience but doesn't change the world... I've even thought of the perfect trigger: in order to operate the teleporter, you need to sing "Hope Eyrie"! Of course, eventually the teleporter's existence would be discovered by the FBI and I'd be rounded up and dissected, or else I'd die at the worst possible time leaving all my friends in the lurch, or...)

I'm such a pessimist. :-/

It's a BIT of a drive ...

I think Hill Valley residents would find a working clock tower a lot more useful than one permanently frozen to one time.

Nutbunnies.

Btw, I saw your doppleganger on the bus today. I thought for a minute it might be Beatrice, but there's no way in hell Beatrice would wear pink hoop earings.

*bounce* Having a long-but-not-undoable commute, [livejournal.com profile] happyfunpaul and I will be there. (We're staying with [livejournal.com profile] ladymondegreen Saturday night.)
