I heard Talis Kimberley sing this at DucKon this past summer. Today she posted a recording of it for Remembrance Day.

Go. Listen.

And somebody's wearing a poppy
That most symbolic of flowers
How the silence spreads when they’re bringing them home
At fourteen hundred hours

It is also one of the tracks on the CD Pagan Folk Against Fascism

What a difference a year makes...

It's been a year, or will be tomorrow, since I first heard this. I had no idea one song, even on a topic as deep as this, could change my life so... Talis and I have cultivated a deep and abiding friendship, and what's more, I met another friend of hers lurking around on her Facebook wall.... And *that* relationship has blossomed into something more. I shall be visiting England soon to meet her, and to meet Talis... leaving on the third day of Hanukkah. :)

Thank you, my friend. Thanks to this brief, thoughtful post, my life is filled with lights and love and music. May you find the same in your life, when the time is right.
