So I've been seeing this RP meme going around, and heck, why not.

why I decided to play this character: It's

genarti's fault. I don't think it would have occurred to me to play him (though the Tam siblings were definitely a big part of what drew me to Firefly in the first place) if Gen hadn't wanted to play River and asked me to play opposite her.
my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date: Oh man, way too many to choose from. Looking through the Memories page, my eye is caught by this for Silly, and this for Serious.
my favorite original aspect about this character: I feel like there isn't a lot I've originated about him. Possibly his relationship with his father.
the last thing they did "off screen": Mm -- read a few theoretical papers on the development of AI, owing to a recent conversation in Milliways with Felix Gaeta and Caprica Six.
what their last words would be if they died tomorrow: Going by past experience, it would probably be some variation on I'm sorry.
what the next thing I'm doing for them is (narrative, post, shelving, whatever): I'm vaguely considering posting him into the bar sometime this weekend, and I'm working on some out-of-continuity AU threads with him right now.

my favorite original aspect about this character: Probably just how much he really cares about Sam.

what their last words would be if they died tomorrow: "I'm okay! ...Wait, no --"
what the next thing I'm doing for them is (narrative, post, shelving, whatever): Ralph's been shelved for a while now.

I have to ask about Kaya. :D

why I decided to play this character: *grins* Kaya started out as a variation on a bog-standard opening gambit for an adventure game -- the ragged girl who runs into the tavern and hides, and the officious soldiers who come in immediately after Looking For A Thief. Somehow, nobody ever turns her in. Ever.
my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date: *looks at the Epic Thread of Epic* Do you even have to ASK?
my favorite original aspect about this character: As I said recently, I don't think I realized just what an affectionate child Kaya really is when she isn't terrified for her life.
the last thing they did "off screen": Slept, probably.
what their last words would be if they died tomorrow: ... *wibbles* I, um. Don't know how coherent she'd be if she saw it coming.

my favorite original aspect about this character: I don't feel like I originated much with him, the few times I've played him. Possibly the bit in the aforelinked scene, with the internal explanation for why he did that particular thing.

what their last words would be if they died tomorrow: That would depend heavily on how he died. (Suggestions?)
what the next thing I'm doing for them is (narrative, post, shelving, whatever): Dunno. Maybe I'll pop him into m_m one of these days.

why I decided to play this character: Believe it or not, it was originally for the sole purpose of having somebody who could recognize and fanboy John Crichton (who kept recognizing people like Raph the Ninja Turtle and so on).
my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date: Far, far too many to choose from. Looking at Memories, though, my eye lights on this conversation for Serious, and this thread for Funny.
my favorite original aspect about this character: Probably how much he's matured since coming to Milliways.
the last thing they did "off screen": Went to his favorite demon coffee shop for Open Mike Poetry Night.
what their last words would be if they died tomorrow: *sighs* Probably some variation on "Wait, no --"
what the next thing I'm doing for them is (narrative, post, shelving, whatever): There's a plot in the works in his world, and I think it will be ready to go soon. :D

Let's take one I've written about: Thailog. (The story's here. It was written ... good lord, over ten years ago. God I'm old.)

why I decided to ~~play~~ write this character: I can't remember whether we came up with the plot or the villain first, but either way, Thailog was the only possible choice. Once David Xanatos isn't a villain anymore -- is, indeed, effectively one of the heroes -- there's really not a huge selection of worthy adversaries for him.
my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date: In original canon, probably his first real appearance, where he tells Goliath why he hates everybody who was responsible for his creation.
my favorite original aspect about this character: How badly he wants someone he can trust. And the fact that he isn't really aware of this himself.
the last thing they did "off screen": That would be telling. *looks at story*
what their last words would be if they died tomorrow: "This ... isn't ... over."
what the next thing I'm doing for them is (narrative, post, shelving, whatever): I haven't done anything with him in years, and I doubt I'll pick him up again. But who knows?

why I decided to play this character: I liked the idea of playing the new kid who needs to have everything explained so's to facilitate infodump. Making said kid incredibly prickly and suspicious was just fun.
my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date: Mmm ... possibly the scene where she goes home and finds out she doesn't exist anymore. Either that or her recent correspondence with Ludvig.
my favorite original aspect about this character: I'm still fond of her SURPRIES CRUSH on JB. I totally did not see that coming.
the last thing they did "off screen": Started laying Plans for when she next sees Ludvig.

Hi! :D

why I decided to play this character: Heh. Funny story, that; the introduction of Charlie McGee at the end of the Academyplot ("Ms. McGee will see you now," said by a Taos employee to the newly arrived Academy kids) was originally meant to be a throwaway line. It was only later that we realized that it would be useful to have a character in current contact with the kids who could come into Milliways, and that's why I apped Charlie and aged her to mid-thirties.
my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date: Tough call. Everything with Liz Sherman; everything with Prometheus; her first interaction with Fire; the 1408 plot; and, of course, the recent plot at Tet. (I think this may qualify as a Defining Moment of Awesome.)
my favorite original aspect about this character: Probably her devotion to the Rose, and to the cause of the Tet corporation.
the last thing they did "off screen": Slept. A lot.
what their last words would be if they died tomorrow: "I'm fine, really, I'm just still so tired...."

Oh wow! You know, I'd always figured that the 'Ms. McGee will see you now' line was an intentional link. Shows what I know, huh? Then again, I read that thread for the first time in 2007, so I'd already seen at least bits of Charlie's interactions in Milliways. Gotta love happy accidents. :)
