Is anybody besides me having trouble with gmail right now?

ETA: Oh okay. Restarting Firefox seems to have done the trick.

Here at the Ohio Valley Filk Festival. In about half an hour, Sabbath starts; in a couple of hours, I will be performing Gabriel Gray's Song in the Pegasus Nominees concert. this is the second time I should not be this nervous. ohgod.

Those of you who are/will be at the con: see you soon if I haven't already! (Those of you who aren't but wanted to be: I miss you. *many, many hugs*)

I will not be online more than sporadically between now and Monday afternoon/evening. See you all when I see you. Don't blow up the internets while I'm gone. <3

Yeah, that whole crosspost-to-Facebook thing. I probably don't have to say it, but plz not to on any locked posts?

So those of you who are following such things probably already know that the Pegasus ballot went live this weekend.

The rest of you may want to take a quick look at it. Because, um.

I'm on it again. Twice.

Nominated for Best Filksong ("Gabriel Gray's Song" again) and for Best Writer/Composer.

STILL A LITTLE GOBSMACKED OMG.

Also so many great friends of mine are up for awards this year! And so many other people I admire. Congratulations all around, you guys, and I'm looking forward to seeing you in October.

So, uh.

The Pegasus Awards ballot is out. And.

Um.

I'm on it.

Nominee for Best Filk Song: Gabriel Gray's Song - Batya Wittenberg.

So as some of you already know, my office recently moved into a new building.

I recently made an unnerving discovery as to who owns said building.

Aheh.

No relation, I'm sure.

So as some of you may remember, I had some fun with my front teeth back in August.

One of the new laminates? Fell off this morning while I was eating a breakfast bar.

I have an emergency appointment with my dentist in about two hours.

They say if you dream about your teeth falling out, it may represent a fear of losing control over your life. So if your teeth fall out in real life, does that represent a fear of losing control over your dreams?

ETA: Laminate has been successfully reattached.

Functional front teeth for the win.

-- and hey, how's that for a cheery title for my first LJ post in months?

I'd been planning to start posting more often again, and I was gonna make this a What's Been Up With Me Lately sort of thing -- stuff about the apartment we're attempting to buy and the ohmygod job offer I got yesterday and similar. But I decided to save that for a later post.

Because I read this. To which I am linking with permission of the author. (Selkie's a recent addition to my flist; I met her through [livejournal.com profile] milliways_bar, which is another thing I will tell you all about next time.)
[ETA: Link removed, as post has been locked -- see below.]

It's about a very personal, very ugly civil rights violation. All perfectly legal and perfectly horrifying.

This story we spread.
