The Children of Tama are incomprehensible.

So today at the office there's a conference call.

Co-worker, over phone, says: "...and once we change the agency number in the database, we'll have to also change that number in all the payments, because we don't want to end up with floating data."

I, with immense self-restraint, do not say brightly: "In the event of a water landing, I can also be used as a flotation device."

Sometimes I worry me.

You worry me too.

I don't. But if I did, you would probably still worry me.

Say it with me: "In the event of a system crash, database can be used as a flotation device." Go ahead, you know you want to... ;-D

I know I don't get the reference, but I do picture a bunch of Enterprise types hanging on a floating android.
