Hello, folks!

So yeah, while I will not be leaving LJ behind completely, I am slowly starting to make my way over to DW. This means I'll be crossposting, so everybody can see me regardless of where they're reading -- but I still have to figure out where I'm reading, so as not to miss anything.

What I need from you, o my journalfriends, is to answer the following two-tiered question:

Do you regularly

1) read both LJ and DW posts
2) read only things posted on LJ
3) read only things posted on DW

A) and post to both LJ and DW
B) and post only on LJ
C) and post only on DW?

What I will probably do with this information is build a custom reading filter of some kind on either DW, LJ, or both. We shall see. (I also want to make sure my friendslist/reading circle is complete, but I think that will wait for another post.)

1A! I crosspost and read on both sites, but I check DW a little more frequently and a little more rigorously than LJ.

I also am 1A currently, though I am still trying to find active and useful things to add to the friends page here in DW.

1A (with the caveat that comments are not enabled at LJ), but I prefer DW for both.

1A. I prefer DW, and will post to wherever comments are primarily present.

I read DW, mostly because LJ and their ads is driving me bonkers. There's whole communities I can't keep up on - no adblocker I have (and there's 3 on this computer) seems to be able to erase them. I can read M'ways main page, but I'm currently 4 posts behind on the Back Room, 'cause the ads extend halfway down the page.

I post to DW, with cross-post to LJ. Who knows how long that'll last.

Do you have Adblock with the new default settings adjusted? That might help slay the in-line/floating ads.

I crosspost all my posts from DW to LJ. I read both, DW-first. I am noticing that people are still working out filter details, so I expect to do so for a while.

I read and write on both (or, well, crosspost from DW to LJ, which amounts to the same thing). DW is my primary home nowadays, though -- if someone has a DW journal and crossposts between the two, I'll take them off my main reading filter on LJ and stick to reading all their posts here.

I go with 1a! I crosspost and read both, but I read DW first and comment here if possible before I skim over LJ.

I am 1A by force of will, because at random intervals LJ is putting ad smack dab in the middle of pages. I'm setting up cross posts and filters and all so that I'm primarily reading/replying at DW.

I will still check LJ, because there are people there I don't want to lose who are not moving, but I suspect if they move that'll end quickly as I'm crap at keeping up on just one journal service, let alone two.

I post on Wordpress as a starting point, and that mirrors out to both LJ and DW.

If someone's posting on DW I will default to reading them there.

Hi over here, you. I read both LJ & DW, and post to both. I'm trying to post mostly to DW and crosspost to LJ, but I find myself commenting more on LJ.

Icons, dammit.

1A, more or less. Which gets read first varies day to day. Also, a fair portion of my default view on LJ is there, not on DW. Comments are fairly equally spread between the two

1A for me as well. I still check LJ first because I have a fair chunk of people who likely won't ever shift, but I don't plan to remove people from one service or the other.

Also 1A but currently the 'A' is rather narrowly specialized and not cross-posted.

I haven't posted anything at all involving my personal life on LJ since I moved to DW, because LJ in addition to sucking in various ways conflates access and trust, and I had that problem with information in locked LJ posts showing up in places I didn't want it to. I post here and only crosspost to LJ if the material isn't sensitive (rants/meta)--but make people comment here.

I do read LJ but mostly what I read on LJ is communities.

I read and post only on LJ

I want to only read on DW, but for right now I am 1A, because I know that I am missing people on my reading lists on DW, and I haven't gotten around to figuring out why that is yet.

[identity profile] grumqa.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I only deal with LJ. If enough people leave it for this other site, I'll probably just stop reading LJ and not replace it with anything.

[personal profile] hms42 2012-01-16 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
LJ only for now.

But I do have a DW account that I don't use.

So far, I only read or post to LJ. But I've moved most of my attention to Facebook anyway; it's easier to post quickly there. I might switch over to DW, but if I do, I'll probably do so completely and not look back here; I can't keep track of both.

So far, I almost entirely read LJ, unless specifically directed to DW. I post to DW even less (a couple of comments to QotDs, mainly). My DW username is the same as the LJ one, but I have not yet done much in the way of friending/read-listing folks at DW.

I read LiveJournal regularly, Dreamwidth a couple of times a week. Most of my posts are to LiveJournal, and if I post to Dreamwidth, it's usually a duplicate of a LiveJournal post. So far I haven't cross-posted, and won't unless there's a way to do that without giving either site my password for the other.

I read LJ, and if it's publicly available, I read DW. I only post on LJ.
